I had an interesting conversation with a classmate today, and after he stated that post-grad he would like to stop learning for a while to let his knowledge sink in, we came up with the following metaphor:
Georgia Tech engineering is like the steakhouse that costs a lot of money, has a superb decor, but in the end people pay a lot for the ambiance. The steaks (students) themselves are cooked too quickly and not simmered (i.e. Too much knowledge crammed into a small time period) but for some reason everyone wants one. Maybe it's the mashed potatoes, or the gravy, but these steaks definitely don't feel like they were cooked properly and yet seem to be the most popular food in town. Obviously, you won't be getting a streak without it costing you something, but it will be delicious.
